This role involves overseeing daily workshop operations to maximize vehicle throughput and ensure high-quality service delivery. It focuses on supervising a team of technicians, managing bay productivity, and maintaining strict adherence to OEM standard operating procedures.
Distribute job cards to technicians based on skill levels and workload to ensure optimal bay utilization.
Monitor the progress of vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks to meet promised delivery times.
Conduct final quality checks on serviced vehicles to minimize repeat repairs and ensure customer satisfaction.
Supervise the use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment, ensuring regular maintenance and calibration.
Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices on technical skills and safety protocols.
Coordinate closely with Service Advisors and the Parts Department to ensure availability of required components.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment on the workshop floor in compliance with 5S standards.
Analyze floor productivity reports and implement process improvements to reduce idle time.
Proven experience as a floor supervisor or senior technician in an authorized automotive service center.
Strong technical knowledge of internal combustion engines and modern vehicle electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and complex wiring diagrams.
Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for tracking job cards and technician efficiency.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to handle high-pressure environments.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and OEM compliance standards.
Experience working with a major OEM authorized dealership (Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, etc.).
Valid four-wheeler driving license and test drive certification.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting workshop metrics.

Education: Diploma or B.E. in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering; ITI with extensive experience may be considered.
Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience in automotive workshop operations.
Certifications: OEM Technical Certification (Level 2 or above), Safety Supervisor Training
On-site authorized workshop environment, standard 6-day work week, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Potential for promotion to Workshop Manager or Service Manager roles within the dealership group or OEM regional technical teams.
