This role involves overseeing the entire inventory lifecycle, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing obsolescence and maximizing revenue through retail and workshop sales. The position requires a strategic approach to procurement and supply chain management to maintain high vehicle fill rates and customer satisfaction within the dealership ecosystem.
Manage end-to-end inventory operations including procurement, warehousing, and distribution of genuine OEM parts and accessories.
Monitor and maintain optimum stock levels using ABC, FSN, and VED analysis to prevent stock-outs and minimize dead stock.
Liaise with OEM regional offices for order placement, tracking shipments, and resolving discrepancies in supply.
Drive parts revenue targets by overseeing over-the-counter sales and supporting the service department with timely parts availability.
Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconciliation against Dealer Management System (DMS) records.
Implement effective warehouse management practices including proper binning, labeling, and safety protocols.
Lead and mentor a team of parts advisors and storekeepers to ensure operational efficiency and professional growth.
Analyze monthly MIS reports to track inventory turnover ratios, purchase trends, and profitability margins.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in spare parts management within the automotive industry.
Proven track record of managing large-scale inventory for authorized 4-wheeler or commercial vehicle dealerships.
Expertise in operating Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as Autoline, SAP, or proprietary OEM software.
Strong understanding of automotive technical components and part numbering systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and OEM compliance standards.
Excellent analytical skills for demand forecasting and inventory planning.
Experience working with premium or luxury automotive brands.
In-depth knowledge of GST documentation and E-way bill generation for parts movement.
Previous experience in managing multiple workshop locations or satellite stores.

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or Graduate with a Diploma in Material Management
Experience: 8 to 15 years in Automotive Parts Operations
Certifications: OEM Certified Parts Manager, Inventory Management Certification
Standard dealership workshop environment; 6-day work week (9 AM - 6 PM); on-site role requiring coordination between the warehouse and service floor.
Successful candidates can progress to Regional Parts Manager, Service Head, or General Manager - Operations within the dealership group or OEM network.
