This role involves managing the daily financial operations of a high-volume automotive dealership, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with statutory regulations. The focus is on maintaining financial integrity through rigorous reconciliation processes and timely reporting to support the dealership's profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments in Tally or the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, cash-in-hand, and OEM ledger accounts to ensure zero discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B) and TDS payments/returns as per Indian tax laws.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including tracking outstanding payments from customers and insurance companies for vehicle servicing.
- Coordinate with the spare parts and service departments to monitor inventory valuation and conduct periodic physical stock audits.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, for management review.
- Handle petty cash management and process employee expense reimbursements according to company policy.
- Facilitate internal and statutory audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial entries.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accountant specifically within an authorized automobile dealership or service center.
- Hands-on expertise in Tally ERP 9 or Tally Prime and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of GST, TDS, and PF/ESI compliance procedures.
- Ability to manage high-volume transactional data with high accuracy.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet strict month-end deadlines.
Preferred
- Familiarity with OEM-specific Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- Experience in handling insurance claim accounting and payout reconciliations.
- Local language proficiency for interacting with local vendors and staff.

Qualifications
Education: B.Com or M.Com from a recognized university
Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in dealership or automotive accounting
Certifications: Tally Certification, GST Practitioner certification is a plus
Work Environment
On-site dealership office, standard 6-day work week (9:30 AM to 6:30 PM).
