This leadership role focuses on driving operational excellence and technical precision across all service floor activities to ensure maximum throughput. It involves mentoring a diverse team of technicians and advisors while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle repair quality and customer service as per OEM guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workshop operations including floor management, job card allocation, and technician productivity monitoring.
- Ensure strict compliance with OEM service standards, safety protocols, and quality control checklists for every vehicle.
- Manage the workshop P&L by optimizing labor revenue, controlling operational expenses, and monitoring spare parts turnover.
- Resolve complex technical issues and handle escalated customer grievances to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs for technicians and service staff to foster professional growth.
- Coordinate with the spare parts and inventory departments to ensure 100% parts availability for scheduled repairs.
- Implement and monitor '5S' methodology and workshop safety standards to maintain a world-class working environment.
- Analyze Dealer Management System (DMS) reports to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in an authorized automotive workshop environment.
- Proven experience in managing a team of at least 15-20 technical staff members.
- Hands-on expertise with automotive diagnostic tools and Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- Strong understanding of workshop financial metrics, including labor efficiency and utilization.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the local regional language.
- In-depth knowledge of warranty procedures and OEM service scheduling.
Preferred
- Experience working with Tier-1 or premium automotive brands in the Indian market.
- Exposure to Electric Vehicle (EV) service protocols and high-voltage safety training.
- Active certification from a major OEM as a Service Lead or Workshop Manager.
