Oversees the day-to-day operations of the vehicle cleaning and detailing department within a busy automotive workshop. This role ensures that all vehicles meet the brand's aesthetic standards before delivery while maintaining efficient workflow and strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor a team of washing technicians to ensure daily targets and quality standards are met.
- Conduct thorough final inspections of vehicles to ensure they are free of spots, streaks, or missed areas before customer handover.
- Maintain and oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and cost-effective usage.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors and Floor Supervisors to prioritize vehicles based on delivery schedules and customer commitments.
- Implement and enforce safety guidelines and environmental norms regarding water usage, drainage, and waste disposal.
- Provide hands-on training to the team on advanced detailing techniques, chemical dilution ratios, and machine handling.
- Monitor the uptime and regular maintenance of equipment like high-pressure pumps, vacuum cleaners, and RO systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized washing bay area to ensure a professional workshop appearance at all times.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an automotive workshop or professional car detailing center.
- Hands-on knowledge of washing equipment, steam cleaners, and polishing machines.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of semi-skilled laborers and technicians.
- Fluency in the local language and a basic understanding of English or Hindi for reporting.
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced workshop environment and stand for long durations.
- Familiarity with workshop safety protocols and water conservation practices.
Preferred
- Experience working with authorized OEM service centers for major car or two-wheeler brands.
- Basic knowledge of Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for job card tracking and status updates.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to safely move vehicles within the workshop premises.
