Job Description

This role involves performing comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on various motorcycle and scooter models within an authorized service environment. The primary focus is on ensuring vehicle safety, performance, and reliability while maintaining high standards of workshop productivity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine periodic maintenance services (PMS) and general repairs as per OEM standard operating procedures.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using specialized diagnostic tools and scanners.
  • Execute engine overhauling, clutch replacements, and suspension repairs with high precision.
  • Conduct brake system servicing, tire changes, and wheel alignment/balancing tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs, parts used, and labor hours on the digital or physical job cards.
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) for new vehicles to ensure they meet factory specifications.
  • Ensure the workshop area follows 5S standards for cleanliness and organized tool management.
  • Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and recommend necessary repairs to customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a two-wheeler authorized service center.
  • In-depth knowledge of four-stroke engines, fuel injection systems, and BS-VI technology.
  • Proficiency in using pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical service manuals and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Valid two-wheeler driving license for vehicle testing and movement.
  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Preferred

  • Prior experience with major OEMs like Hero, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, or Yamaha.
  • Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains and battery safety.
  • Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for logging job details.

Qualifications

Education: ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in the Indian two-wheeler service industry

Certifications: OEM Technical Certification, ASDC (Automotive Skills Development Council) certification preferred

Work Environment

Standard authorized workshop environment with a 6-day work week and 9 AM - 6 PM shift timings.

Growth Opportunities

Technicians can advance to Senior Technician, Master Technician, or transition into Service Advisor and Workshop Manager roles through OEM-graded training programs.
