Job Description

This entry-level role focuses on mastering automotive repair techniques under the guidance of master technicians while ensuring adherence to OEM quality standards. It involves hands-on training across various mechanical and electrical systems to build a strong foundation in vehicle diagnostics and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections under supervision
  • Assist senior technicians in complex engine, transmission, and suspension repairs
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the assigned work bay and specialized tool trolley
  • Learn to operate OEM-specific diagnostic tools and interpret vehicle health reports
  • Document all service procedures and parts used accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS)
  • Participate in mandatory OEM technical training sessions to achieve internal certifications
  • Ensure strict adherence to workshop safety protocols and environmental guidelines for hazardous waste disposal

Requirements

  • Valid ITI or Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and automotive sub-systems
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals and circuit diagrams
  • Physical fitness to handle heavy tools and remain active on the shop floor
  • Disciplined approach to work with a strong commitment to workshop safety
  • Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license

Preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety
  • Familiarity with multi-brand diagnostic scanners
  • Previous vocational training or apprenticeship in an automotive workshop

Qualifications

Education: ITI (Motor Mechanic Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile Engineering

Experience: 0 years (Fresher)

Certifications: NAPS Apprenticeship completion is a plus, OEM Level 1 Certification (to be acquired during probation)

Work Environment

On-site workshop environment with a 6-day work week. Standard shift timings apply (usually 9 AM - 6 PM). Exposure to automotive fluids, noise, and heavy machinery is expected.

Growth Opportunities

Structured career path from Trainee to Junior Technician, with potential to reach Senior or Master Technician levels. Opportunities to transition into Service Advisory or Workshop Management based on performance.
