Job Description

This entry-level role involves performing routine vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical repairs under the guidance of senior technicians. It serves as a foundational position for individuals looking to build a long-term technical career within a leading automotive service network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic maintenance services (PMS) including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups according to OEM standards.
  • Assist senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using basic diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
  • Execute minor repairs on braking systems, suspension components, and engine peripherals under supervision.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the assigned workshop bay and ensure all tools are stored correctly.
  • Accurately document all work performed on the job card and report any additional vehicle defects found during inspection.
  • Ensure strict adherence to workshop safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate actively in technical training programs provided by the company and the OEM to upgrade skill sets.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of automotive mechanical systems and engine components.
  • Ability to handle workshop tools and pneumatic equipment safely.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.
  • Strong commitment to punctuality and discipline in a 6-day work week schedule.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies including EV and BS6 systems.

Preferred

  • Possession of a valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license.
  • Prior internship or apprenticeship experience at an authorized service center.
  • Familiarity with digital Dealership Management Systems (DMS) for job card entries.

Engine Component Identification, Basic Electrical Troubleshooting, Brake and Clutch Servicing, Wheel Alignment and Balancing, Tool Handling and Calibration

Team Collaboration, Observational Skills, Time Management, Instruction Following

Qualifications

Education: ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), Diesel Mechanic, or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 0-1 years of experience in an automotive workshop setting

Certifications: Apprenticeship Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) preferred

Work Environment

On-site at a state-of-the-art authorized service center with standard 6-day work weeks and 9 AM - 6 PM shift timings.
