This role involves executing complex mechanical and electrical repairs while ensuring vehicles meet stringent OEM performance standards. It focuses on delivering high-quality maintenance services and providing technical mentorship to junior staff within a high-volume workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and overhauling of engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic scanners to troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic control unit (ECU) issues.
- Execute periodic maintenance services and multi-point inspections as per the brand's service schedules.
- Ensure all repair work is completed with a 'First Time Right' (FTR) approach to minimize repeat complaints.
- Guide and mentor junior technicians and apprentices on best practices and technical safety.
- Maintain high standards of workshop cleanliness and adhere to 5S and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to provide technical explanations and accurate repair timelines.
- Accurately document all technical findings and parts used within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automobile service center.
- Comprehensive knowledge of internal combustion engines (ICE) and BS6 emission technology.
- Proficiency in using specialized workshop tools, including torque wrenches and multimeters.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for conducting post-repair test drives.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and hazardous material handling protocols.
Preferred
- Experience working with premium or luxury automotive brands.
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety.
- Previous experience in a lead technician or quality controller role.
