This role involves performing routine maintenance, diagnostic testing, and complex mechanical repairs on vehicles to ensure they meet OEM safety and performance standards. The focus is on delivering high-quality workmanship while adhering to strict turnaround times within a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks including engine oil changes, brake servicing, and fluid top-ups according to service schedules.
- Repair or replace defective parts such as suspension components, transmissions, and cooling systems using specialized tools.
- Utilize electronic diagnostic scanners and tools to troubleshoot modern engine management systems and sensors.
- Document all repair work, parts used, and labor time accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure all equipment is handled according to safety and environmental protocols.
- Participate in OEM-led technical training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle models and technologies.
- Conduct final test drives to verify that all reported issues have been successfully resolved.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technician in an authorized automotive workshop or service center.
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems (BS6 experience preferred).
- Ability to operate workshop machinery such as wheel aligners, balancers, and hydraulic lifts.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to perform vehicle movements and test drives.
- Willingness to work in a 6-day work week schedule.
Preferred
- Experience with specific OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, or Hyundai tools).
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage systems and safety.
- Knowledge of local language for effective communication with workshop staff.

Qualifications
Education: ITI in Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

Certifications: OEM Technical Certification, ASDC (Automotive Skills Development Council) Certification is a plus
Work Environment
Standard automotive workshop environment involving physical labor, exposure to oils/chemicals, and noise. On-site 6 days a week, typically 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
