Oversees daily workshop floor operations to ensure high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role focuses on optimizing technician productivity and maintaining strict adherence to OEM standards while ensuring excellent service delivery timelines for customers.
Manage the workshop floor and assign job cards to technicians based on their specific skill sets and expertise.
Monitor the progress of all vehicles under repair to ensure adherence to the promised delivery time (PDT).
Perform final quality inspections and road tests on serviced vehicles to ensure all reported issues are resolved.
Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and helpers, fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence.
Coordinate with the Spare Parts department to ensure the timely availability of required components for ongoing jobs.
Maintain workshop discipline and ensure compliance with 5S standards and environmental safety protocols.
Identify training needs for the technical team and coordinate with the Service Manager for skill development programs.
Resolve technical escalations and provide hands-on guidance for complex mechanical or electrical diagnostic issues.
3 to 5 years of experience in an authorized automotive service center environment.
In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and diagnostic tools.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of 10-15 technicians.
Strong understanding of workshop flow and inventory management.
Valid four-wheeler driving license is mandatory.
Previous experience working with a major OEM (Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, etc.).
Knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) systems and high-voltage safety protocols.
Experience in implementing Lean or Six Sigma practices in a workshop setting.

Standard 6-day work week on-site at an authorized service center workshop. The role involves significant time on the shop floor interacting with technical staff.
High-performing supervisors can advance to Workshop Manager or Service Manager roles within the dealership network or transition into technical trainer roles for the OEM.
