Job Description

This role involves overseeing the complete lifecycle of automotive parts and accessories to ensure seamless service operations and customer satisfaction. You will lead a dedicated team to maintain optimal inventory levels while driving profitability through strategic stock management and retail sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the parts department, ensuring 100% availability of fast-moving items for the workshop.
  • Develop and execute effective stock clearance strategies to minimize aged inventory and improve cash flow.
  • Manage relationships with OEM suppliers and local vendors to ensure timely procurement and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor inventory health using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and conduct regular physical stock audits.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to align parts availability with scheduled vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Lead and mentor the parts counter team to provide exceptional technical advice and service to retail customers.
  • Ensure the warehouse and storage areas comply with OEM safety, organization, and 5S standards.
  • Analyze monthly sales data and inventory reports to forecast future demand and prevent stock-outs.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in automotive parts management within an authorized dealership environment.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management software or automotive DMS platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage and liquidate aged or dead stock effectively.
  • Strong understanding of automotive components, technical specifications, and procurement cycles.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of parts executives and pickers.
  • Fluency in the local language and working knowledge of English for OEM communications.

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with major Indian OEMs (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra).
  • Specialized training in Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills for dealing with local vendors and logistics partners.

Inventory Control, DMS Proficiency (e.g., SAP, Autoline, or Oracle), Stock Auditing, Supply Chain Analytics, Warehouse Management

Qualifications

Education: Graduate in any stream; Diploma/B.E. in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.

Experience: 5 to 8 years in Indian Automotive Spare Parts operations.

Certifications: OEM Parts Manager Certification, Warehouse Management Certification (optional)

Work Environment

This is an on-site role based at our dealership facility, operating 6 days a week in a fast-paced workshop and warehouse environment.
