This role focuses on executing high-quality diagnostic and repair tasks for modern vehicles while ensuring strict adherence to OEM standards. It involves managing complex mechanical issues and mentoring junior staff to maintain high workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems using OEM scanners.
- Execute major repairs including engine overhauls, gearbox repairs, and suspension overhauling.
- Conduct thorough Vehicle Health Checks (VHC) and provide accurate repair estimates to Service Advisors.
- Ensure all repair work is completed within the stipulated Standard Man Hours (SMH) to maximize bay productivity.
- Maintain workshop discipline by following 5S principles and ensuring the proper upkeep of special tools and equipment.
- Mentor and supervise ITI apprentices and junior technicians during complex repair procedures.
- Document all technical findings, parts used, and labor performed accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Requirements
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing BS-VI compliant engines and vehicle systems.
- Hands-on expertise with computerized diagnostic tools and specialized workshop machinery.
- Deep understanding of automotive electrical circuits and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on 'First Time Right' (FTR) repairs.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to perform road tests and quality checks.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with an authorized OEM dealership or premium service center.
- Basic certification or training in Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage safety and components.
- Familiarity with Kaizen or Lean methodology in a workshop setting.

Work Environment
Professional workshop environment with standard 6-day work weeks. Shift timings are typically 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
