Job Description

Hyundai PDI & Audit Standards   For PDI In-Charge

Description: Pre-Delivery Inspection In charge

1. PDI Process Compliance (Critical Audit Area)

  • Perform 100% Pre-Delivery Inspection strictly as per Hyundai OEM PDI checklist

  • Ensure PDI is completed before invoicing and delivery

  • No vehicle to be delivered without signed and approved PDI checklist

  • Adherence to VIN-wise PDI tracking

 

2. Vehicle Inspection Standards

Exterior

  • No scratches, dents, paint mismatch, or rust

  • Proper fitment of bumpers, panels, mirrors, lights

Interior

  • Clean seats, dashboard, roof liner, door trims

  • No stains, damages, warning lights, or abnormal sounds

Engine & Electrical

  • Proper fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, washer fluid)

  • Battery voltage within OEM limits

  • No ECU error codes / warning indicators

Underbody & Tyres

  • No transit damage or leakage

  • Correct tyre pressure as per Hyundai standards

  • Spare wheel, jack, and tool kit availability

 

3. Accessories & Fitment Audit

  • Approved accessories fitted as per job card

  • Proper electrical connections without wire cuts

  • No non-approved or duplicate accessories

  • Accessories billing to match physical fitment

 

4. Cleanliness & Vehicle Readiness

  • Protective covers removed (seat covers, steering, floor mats)

  • Vehicle washed, vacuumed, and polished before delivery

  • Fuel level as per dealership policy

  • Number plates, FASTag, and mandatory stickers affixed

 

5. Documentation & Records (Major Audit Focus)

  • Signed PDI checklist for every delivered vehicle

  • VIN matching across PDI sheet, invoice, and delivery note

  • Record retention as per Hyundai audit norms

  • Zero manual overwriting or missing entries

 

6. SOP & Process Discipline

  • Dedicated PDI area with proper lighting and safety markings

  • PDI conducted only by trained and authorized personnel

  • Use of standard Hyundai tools and equipment

  • Compliance with Hyundai Dealer Management System (DMS) updates

 

7. Defect Handling & Escalation

  • Immediate reporting of transit or manufacturing defects

  • Rectification confirmation before delivery

  • No delivery with open quality concerns

  • Proper escalation to Hyundai technical team when required

 

8. Customer Satisfaction (CSI Impact)

  • Zero repeat complaints related to PDI lapses

  • Support sales team during customer delivery walkthroughs

  • Ensure customer-ready condition to protect CSI scores

 

9. Audit KPIs Evaluated by Hyundai

  • PDI compliance percentage (Target: 100%)

  • Zero post-delivery quality complaints

  • Documentation accuracy score

  • SOP adherence and housekeeping score

 

10. Common Audit Observations to Avoid

  • Incomplete or unsigned PDI checklist

  • PDI done after invoicing

  • Missing accessories or toolkit

  • Delivery with warning lights ON

  • Poor vehicle cleanliness

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of automobile systems (preferably Hyundai vehicles)

  • Attention to detail and quality orientation

  • Basic diagnostic and inspection skills

  • Good coordination and communication skills

  • Ability to work under delivery pressure

·         Follow Hyundai SOPs, safety norms, and dealership policies

·         Maintain discipline and cleanliness in the PDI area

Qualification:

  • 12th/ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)/Graduate

  • 2–5 years experience in PDI / service operations at an automobile dealership

  • Prior experience with Hyundai or similar OEM is an added advantage
