This role oversees the complete financial landscape of the dealership operations, ensuring strict adherence to statutory compliances and OEM financial guidelines. It involves acting as a strategic partner to the management by providing critical insights into operational profitability, working capital management, and cost-control measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll processing for the dealership.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Indian tax laws, including timely filing of GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns.
- Coordinate closely with the OEM for incentive claims, spare parts billing reconciliations, and warranty payment tracking.
- Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes and facilitate both internal and statutory audits.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow, bank reconciliations, and working capital to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Prepare and present comprehensive MIS reports, P&L statements, and balance sheets to the senior management and OEM representatives.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls within the Dealer Management System (DMS) to prevent leakages and ensure data integrity.
- Supervise and mentor a team of junior accountants and cashiers across multiple workshop or showroom locations.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of core accounting experience within the Indian Automotive dealership or OEM sector.
- Expert knowledge of GST, TDS, and current Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
- Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and Tally Prime.
- Proven track record in managing bank CC/OD limits and corporate banking relationships.
- Strong understanding of automotive-specific accounting including vehicle inventory funding and workshop billing.
- Excellent command over MS Excel for complex financial modeling and reporting.
Preferred
- Experience handling multi-location dealership accounts.
- Familiarity with SAP FICO or similar high-end ERP systems.
- Prior experience in managing OEM-led financial audits and compliance checks.
