This role focuses on accurately assessing the technical and aesthetic condition of pre-owned vehicles to determine fair market value. It plays a critical role in the procurement process by ensuring transparency and quality for the dealership's inventory while supporting the sales team in trade-in transactions.
Conduct thorough 100+ point physical inspections of pre-owned vehicles including engine performance, bodywork, and interiors.
Verify all legal vehicle documentation such as Registration Certificate (RC), insurance validity, service history, and accidental records.
Utilize digital valuation tools and diagnostic scanners to identify hidden mechanical or electrical issues during the assessment.
Estimate accurate repair and refurbishment costs to arrive at a competitive and profitable procurement price.
Coordinate closely with the sales team to facilitate smooth customer upgrades and trade-in deals.
Maintain a comprehensive digital database of evaluated vehicles featuring detailed inspection reports and high-quality photographs.
Monitor local market trends and auction prices to ensure valuation accuracy remains competitive.
Perform test drives to evaluate suspension, transmission, and overall vehicle handling.
1-3 years of experience specifically in automotive technical assessment or used car valuation.
In-depth knowledge of vehicle engine components, chassis structures, and body shop processes.
Valid Indian four-wheeler driving license with proficiency in driving both manual and automatic variants.
Ability to identify accidental repairs, structural damage, and engine tampering.
Basic computer literacy for data entry into CRM and valuation applications.
Strong understanding of the local used car market and regional RTO regulations.
Prior experience working with OEM-certified pre-owned divisions (e.g., Maruti True Value, Mahindra First Choice, U-Trust).
Familiarity with mobile-based valuation apps and digital diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of RTO transfer processes and hypothecation termination documentation.
