Technician

This role involves performing high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs on vehicles while ensuring strict adherence to OEM service standards. It requires a detail-oriented professional capable of diagnosing complex issues and executing maintenance tasks to maximize vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid top-ups according to the manufacturer's checklist.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using OEM-specific diagnostic scanners and specialized testing equipment.
• Execute major repairs on engines, transmissions, suspensions, and steering systems as per the job card instructions.
• Ensure all repair work is completed within the stipulated Standard Man Hours (SMH) to maintain workshop efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe work bay while ensuring all specialized tools are handled and stored correctly.
• Document all findings, parts replaced, and labor performed accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
• Collaborate with the Service Advisor to explain technical issues and recommend necessary additional repairs to customers.
• Participate in mandatory OEM technical training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle models and technologies.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in an authorized automotive dealership workshop.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems including IC engines, hydraulics, and electrical circuits.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily repair targets.
• Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license for vehicle testing.
• Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in a workshop environment.

Preferred

• Experience working with specific brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
• Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) systems and high-voltage safety protocols.
• Knowledge of wheel alignment, balancing, and tire changing procedures.

Qualifications

Education: ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), Diesel Mechanic, or Diploma in Automobile Engineering

Experience: 1 to 4 years of experience in an automotive service center

Certifications: OEM Technical Certification (Level 1 or 2), ASDMC (Automotive Skills Development Council) certification is a plus

Work Environment

Standard authorized workshop environment, 6 days a week, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Includes exposure to oils, lubricants, and workshop machinery.

Growth Opportunities

Candidates can progress to Senior Technician, Master Technician, or transition into Service Advisor or Workshop Supervisor roles based on performance and OEM certification levels.
