This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the workshop floor and conducting rigorous quality audits on all serviced vehicles to ensure zero-defect delivery. It bridges the gap between technical execution and customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of workmanship and operational efficiency.
Manage the allocation of jobs to technicians based on skill levels to optimize workshop productivity and throughput.
Conduct comprehensive final inspections and road tests for all vehicles post-service to ensure all customer complaints are fully addressed.
Monitor the workshop floor to ensure strict adherence to OEM standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of spares and minimize vehicle downtime (TAT).
Verify that all replaced parts are stored for customer inspection and that the vehicle is returned in pristine condition.
Mentor and guide junior technicians on complex diagnostic issues and advanced repair technique.
Liaise with Service Advisors to provide technical updates on vehicle progress and any additional repairs required.
Diploma or ITI in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automobile service center workshop.
Valid four-wheeler driving license and proficiency in road testing vehicles.
Deep understanding of engine diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical repair procedures.
Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for job card tracking.
Proven ability to lead a team of technicians in a high-pressure environment.
OEM certification from major brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, or Mahindra.
Previous experience as a Senior Technician or Team Leader in a multi-brand workshop.
Familiarity with 5S and Lean workshop management principles.
Knowledge of local language and English for effective internal communication.
