This role involves performing high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs on passenger vehicles to ensure safety and reliability. The focus is on diagnosing complex issues and executing maintenance tasks according to OEM standards within an authorized service center environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid top-ups.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using OEM-specific diagnostic scanners and tools.
- Execute major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions, suspensions, and braking systems.
- Ensure all repair work adheres strictly to the manufacturer's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Document all work performed and parts used accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay and ensure all workshop tools are kept in good condition.
- Participate in OEM-led technical training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle technologies.
- Conduct final road tests to verify the quality of repairs and ensure vehicle safety.
Requirements
- ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) or Diesel Mechanic trade.
- Proven experience working in an authorized OEM service center.
- In-depth knowledge of BS-VI engine technology and emission systems.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for conducting vehicle test drives.
- Ability to handle heavy machinery and workshop equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and wiring diagrams.
Preferred
- Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous certification from a major Indian OEM (e.g., Maruti, Hyundai, Tata Motors).
- Basic computer literacy for accessing digital service manuals.
- Experience in wheel alignment and balancing operations.
