This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end inventory lifecycle, ensuring high fill rates for the service workshop while maintaining optimal stock levels. It bridges the gap between OEM suppliers and the service department to drive parts revenue and operational efficiency through meticulous stock control and demand forecasting.
Monitor and manage daily inventory levels using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
Coordinate directly with the OEM for parts ordering, tracking shipments, and resolving discrepancies in supply or transit damage.
Lead the parts team in conducting periodic physical stock audits and reconciliation to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.
Analyze sales trends to forecast demand for fast-moving, medium-moving, and slow-moving (FMS) parts categories.
Manage the warehouse layout and storage systems to ensure easy retrieval, safety compliance, and space optimization.
Implement strategies to reduce obsolete stock and manage the return-to-vendor (RTV) process efficiently within OEM timelines.
Collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure timely availability of parts for scheduled vehicle repairs and emergency breakdowns.
Prepare daily and monthly reports on parts sales, stock aging, and procurement costs for the senior management.
Graduate degree or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive parts management within an authorized dealership.
Proficiency in using automotive DMS (such as SAP, MSIL, or Tata Motors proprietary systems) and MS Excel.
Strong understanding of inventory control techniques like ABC, VED, and FSN analysis.
In-depth knowledge of automotive components and technical specifications.
Excellent communication skills in English and the local regional language.
Experience with SAP-based inventory modules or advanced ERP systems.
Professional certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
Prior experience in handling high-volume commercial vehicle or luxury car parts.
Proven track record of managing a team of at least 3-5 staff members.

Standard 6-day work week in an on-site dealership workshop and warehouse environment. Standard shift timings apply (typically 9 AM - 6 PM).
High-performing candidates can advance to Regional Parts Manager or Service Manager roles within the dealership network or transition into OEM-side warehouse operations and logistics management.
