This entry-level role involves assisting senior technical staff in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of passenger vehicles within an authorized service center. The focus is on learning OEM standards, mastering tool usage, and ensuring high-quality service delivery for every customer vehicle that enters the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups under supervision.
- Assist senior technicians in dismantling and reassembling engine, transmission, and suspension components.
- Ensure the workshop bay is kept clean and all specialized tools are returned to their designated locations after use.
- Learn to operate basic diagnostic equipment and scanners to identify electronic and mechanical faults.
- Follow all safety protocols and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a zero-accident work environment.
- Document all work performed on job cards accurately to ensure transparency in the service process.
- Participate in mandatory OEM technical training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies.
- Conduct battery health checks and tyre rotations as part of the standard multi-point inspection process.
Requirements
- ITI certification in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) or Diesel Mechanic.
- Fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines and automotive electrical systems.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment for extended hours.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and instructional diagrams.
- Willingness to work a standard 6-day week in a shift-based system.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license.
Preferred
- Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic computer literacy for logging data into the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Previous vocational training or internship at an authorized automobile dealership.
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) components.
