This role involves performing routine maintenance, complex repairs, and diagnostic assessments on vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. It requires a high degree of precision in executing mechanical and electrical tasks while strictly adhering to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
- Perform periodic maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups as per the service schedule.
- Execute major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension components.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and scanners to troubleshoot electronic control unit (ECU) errors and sensor malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay while strictly following workshop safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Document all repair work, parts used, and labor hours accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS) and job cards.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and provide accurate repair estimates to customers.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of all workshop tools and specialized equipment.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in an authorized automotive workshop or service center.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and automotive electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to perform road tests.
- Physical stamina to work in a demanding workshop environment for extended hours.
- Basic computer literacy for updating digital job cards and records.
Preferred
- Prior experience with specific OEM brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
- Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety protocols.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization methodology.
