This role involves overseeing the technical health of the workshop while managing service operations to ensure peak efficiency and customer satisfaction. The individual acts as the primary technical authority for complex diagnostics and leads a team of technicians to meet OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily workshop operations including technician allocation, job card flow, and quality control checks.
- Serve as the lead technical expert (Cotek) for advanced vehicle diagnostics and complex troubleshooting scenarios.
- Monitor and optimize workshop productivity, labor hours, and technician efficiency metrics.
- Ensure 100% compliance with OEM service guidelines, safety protocols, and workshop cleanliness standards.
- Handle escalated technical customer queries and provide transparent explanations regarding repairs.
- Conduct regular technical training and mentorship sessions for junior technicians to upskill the workforce.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure availability of critical components and reduce vehicle turnaround time.
- Analyze workshop performance data through DMS to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in an authorized automotive service center (OEM dealership).
- In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle electronics, engine management systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) like Autoline, SAP, or MS Dynamics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of 10-15 technicians.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the local language.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license is mandatory.
Preferred
- Prior experience as a Master Technician or Technical Coordinator (Cotek) at a major OEM.
- Certification in High Voltage (HV) safety for Electric Vehicle (EV) diagnostics.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or 5S methodologies in a workshop environment.
