WORKSHOP MANAGER

This role involves overseeing the daily operations of an authorized service center to ensure high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services. The primary focus is on optimizing workshop productivity, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining strict adherence to OEM quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop operations including job card allocation, floor management, and resource scheduling.

• Ensure 100% compliance with OEM service standards, technical protocols, and warranty guidelines.

• Monitor and improve workshop productivity, labor efficiency, and vehicle turnaround time (TAT).

• Address and resolve complex technical issues and escalated customer complaints regarding service quality.

• Manage workshop inventory levels for spare parts and consumables in coordination with the parts department.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and technical training sessions for technicians and service advisors.

• Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials according to environmental norms.

• Analyze monthly MIS reports and service data to identify areas for operational improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

• Proven track record in managing workshop floors in a high-volume dealership environment.

• Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and diagnostic tools.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team of 30-40 staff members.

• Excellent communication skills in local language.

• Valid Two-wheeler driving license.

Preferred

• Prior experience working with top-tier OEMs.

• In-depth understanding of IRDA guidelines for accidental repairs and insurance claims.

Qualifications

Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering; Diploma in Automobile Engineering with significant experience is acceptable.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an authorized automotive service center, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Certifications: OEM Technical Certification, Workshop Management Program Certification

Work Environment

This is an on-site role at an authorized dealership workshop. It involves a standard 6-day work week and requires active floor supervision in a fast-paced environment.
