Cashier

This role involves managing daily financial transactions and ensuring accurate cash handling within the dealership environment. You will be responsible for maintaining ledger records and providing support to the finance department to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash, cheque, and digital payment collections from customers and service clients

• Record all financial transactions accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS)

• Prepare and reconcile daily cash reports for submission to the accounts department

• Maintain high levels of accuracy in invoice verification and receipt generation

• Coordinate with the service and sales teams to ensure all payments align with vehicle delivery or service completion

• Ensure strict adherence to company cash handling policies and audit compliance standards

• Assist in the preparation of daily bank deposit slips and petty cash management

Requirements

• Proficiency in basic accounting principles and arithmetic

• Hands-on experience with billing software or Tally ERP

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume cash transactions

• Good verbal communication skills in English and the local regional language

• Integrity and high ethical standards in financial dealings

• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail automotive environment

Preferred

• Prior internship or work experience in an automotive dealership or retail sector

• Basic understanding of GST regulations and invoicing procedures

• Familiarity with digital payment gateways and POS terminal operations

Tally ERP, MS Excel, Dealer Management System (DMS) usage, Cash handling and reconciliation, POS terminal operation

Qualifications

Education: Graduate in B.Com or related commerce stream

Experience: 0-1 years of experience in cash handling or accounting support

Certifications: Basic Computer Course certification

Work Environment

On-site at an authorized automotive dealership showroom or workshop, typically operating on a 6-day work week schedule with standard retail business hours.
