Accountant

This role involves managing daily financial transactions and maintaining rigorous accounting standards within a high-volume automotive dealership. The focus is on ensuring accurate ledger maintenance, statutory compliance, and seamless financial reporting to support the dealership's operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting entries including purchase, sales, receipts, and payments in Tally or the Dealer Management System (DMS).
• Perform periodic bank reconciliations and verify vendor statements to ensure financial accuracy.
• Handle GST computations, assist in filing monthly returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), and manage TDS deductions and deposits.
• Process employee payroll and calculate performance-based incentives for the sales and service teams.
• Manage petty cash, showroom expenses, and coordinate with the bank for daily cash/cheque deposits.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly trial balances, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets for management review.
• Maintain systematic documentation of all invoices, vouchers, and tax-related documents for audit purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from a recognized university.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in general accounting or finance roles.
• Proven proficiency in Tally ERP 9 or Tally Prime.
• Strong understanding of Indian taxation including GST and TDS regulations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, specifically functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to work on-site 6 days a week in a fast-paced retail environment.

Preferred

• Prior experience working in an authorized automobile dealership or service center.
• Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) like Autoline or Blue-Link.
• M.Com or CA-Inter qualification.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site position located at the dealership. Standard working hours are 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, with a weekly off on a rotating basis or Sunday depending on showroom policy.

Growth Opportunities

Successful candidates can progress to Senior Accountant or Assistant Accounts Manager roles. There are also opportunities to move into specialized internal audit or financial planning roles within the larger dealership group network.
