This role involves managing the end-to-end accidental repair process, from initial damage assessment to final delivery of restored vehicles. It requires acting as a primary liaison between customers, insurance surveyors, and the workshop team to ensure high-quality repairs and seamless claim settlements.
Conduct thorough initial inspections of accidental vehicles and prepare detailed repair estimates using OEM-standard software.
Coordinate with insurance company surveyors for vehicle inspections, claim approvals, and supplementary assessments.
Explain the technical repair process, estimated costs, and timelines clearly to customers to build trust and transparency.
Monitor the progress of denting and painting work on the shop floor to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.
Manage all documentation related to insurance claims, including job cards, satisfaction notes, and final billing.
Perform a final quality check post-repair to ensure paint matching and body alignment meet manufacturer specifications.
Update customers regularly on the status of their vehicle and handle any grievances related to claim deductions or delays.
Achieve monthly targets for bodyshop labor revenue and value-added service sales.
3 to 5 years of experience specifically as a Bodyshop Advisor in an authorized automobile dealership.
In-depth knowledge of insurance claim procedures, cashless garage operations, and surveyor coordination.
Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and digital estimation tools.
Strong understanding of automotive body structures, denting techniques, and painting processes.
Excellent communication skills in the local language and English.
Valid four-wheeler driving license.
Previous experience working with premium or luxury automotive brands.
Certification in insurance claim management or IRDA basic training.
Technical background in paint mixing or body alignment systems.
Automotive Damage Estimation, Insurance Claim Processing, DMS Proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or OEM specific), Technical Knowledge of Paints & Coatings, Microsoft Office Suite
Negotiation and Persuasion, Conflict Resolution, Customer Relationship Management, Attention to Detail, Time Management
Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred; ITI with significant experience considered.
Experience: 3-5 years in an authorized automotive bodyshop environment.
Certifications: OEM Bodyshop Advisor Certification, Insurance Process Training Certificate
Standard workshop environment with a 6-day work week. On-site role requiring frequent movement between the customer lounge, vehicle bay, and insurance coordination desk.
Candidates demonstrating high performance can advance to Senior Bodyshop Advisor, Bodyshop Manager, or Workshop Manager roles within the dealership network.
