This role is responsible for executing high-quality vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs to ensure peak vehicle performance and customer safety. It involves working closely with Service Advisors and Workshop Managers to meet daily service targets while adhering to strict OEM quality protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests using specialized OEM scanning tools and equipment.
- Execute complex mechanical and electrical repairs including engine overhauls, transmission work, and suspension replacements.
- Conduct routine periodic maintenance services (PMS) such as oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
- Document all repair activities, parts used, and labor hours accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Identify additional repair or maintenance needs through multi-point inspections and communicate findings to Service Advisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop bay in compliance with 5S and safety regulations.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify that all issues have been resolved and the vehicle meets performance standards.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of components for ongoing repairs.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an authorized OEM workshop or high-volume service center.
- In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines, transmissions, and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using OBD-II scanners and other modern diagnostic software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for testing and moving vehicles.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Preferred
- Previous certification from a major automotive OEM (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai).
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety protocols.
- Specialized training in Air Conditioning (AC) systems or advanced auto-electricals.

Work Environment
On-site at a modern, high-tech workshop facility. Standard 6-day work week with 9 AM - 6 PM shifts. Exposure to oils, lubricants, and machinery is standard.
