This role is responsible for executing precise mechanical repairs and routine maintenance across a variety of vehicle models to ensure peak performance and safety. It involves utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex issues and maintaining high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle servicing, oil changes, and preventive maintenance according to OEM checklists.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using computerized diagnostic scanners and manual inspection techniques.
- Execute repairs on critical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and braking systems.
- Ensure all repair work meets 'First Time Right' (FTR) quality standards to minimize repeat complaints.
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation while strictly adhering to workshop safety and environmental protocols.
- Document all technical findings, parts used, and labor hours accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Collaborate with the Service Advisor and Workshop Manager to provide technical explanations and cost estimates for customers.
- Participate in OEM-led technical training sessions to stay updated on the latest vehicle technologies and repair methods.
Requirements
- ITI (Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automotive service center.
- Valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving license for vehicle testing.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- Basic understanding of BS-VI engine technology and automotive electronics.
Preferred
- Previous experience with a major passenger or commercial vehicle brand (Maruti, Tata, Hyundai, etc.).
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools and scanners.
- Basic computer literacy for digital job card management.
