This role oversees the entire inventory lifecycle to ensure seamless availability of genuine components for service and retail operations. The focus is on optimizing stock levels while minimizing holding costs and maintaining strict compliance with OEM standards to drive workshop efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day inventory operations across the warehouse and satellite hubs to ensure smooth parts flow.
- Forecast demand using historical data and seasonal trends to maintain a fulfillment rate of 95% or higher.
- Supervise the procurement process from OEMs and approved vendors while ensuring adherence to purchase budgets.
- Implement rigorous inventory control measures, including daily cycle counting and monthly physical audits.
- Analyze and manage slow-moving or obsolete inventory through liquidations and returns to minimize financial leakage.
- Lead and mentor a team of parts pickers, billing executives, and warehouse staff to improve overall operational speed.
- Coordinate closely with the Service Manager to prioritize the availability of critical parts for high-turnover service bays.
- Ensure all documentation, including GST invoices and E-way bills, complies with statutory and OEM audit requirements.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in spare parts management within an authorized automotive dealership or OEM.
- Proficiency in Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as SAP, Autoline, or Rev8.
- Deep understanding of warehouse management principles and supply chain logistics in the Indian context.
- Hands-on experience in managing a large SKU portfolio exceeding 5,000 unique parts.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and predict inventory requirements accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for negotiating with vendors and coordinating with service teams.
Preferred
- Prior experience working with major Indian OEMs like Tata Motors, Mahindra, or Maruti Suzuki.
- Specialized certification in Supply Chain Management or Inventory Control.
- Knowledge of local regional languages to facilitate smoother communication with ground-level staff.
