This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical repair services for passenger or commercial vehicles within an authorized service center. The primary objective is to diagnose complex issues accurately while adhering to original equipment manufacturer guidelines to ensure vehicle safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and minor/major repairs on vehicles as per job card instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and OBD scanners to identify mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Conduct engine overhauling, suspension work, and brake system repairs following OEM technical manuals.
- Document all technical findings and parts consumed accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Maintain workshop equipment and specialized tools in good condition, ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and recommend necessary preventive repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations regarding the disposal of hazardous materials like engine oil and coolants.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an authorized automobile service center or OEM workshop.
- Proficiency in using pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts catalogs.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for conducting post-repair test drives.
- Strong understanding of engine components, transmission systems, and electrical circuits.
- Willingness to work in a 6-day week environment with standard workshop shifts.
Preferred
- Certification from a major OEM (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, or Mahindra).
- Prior experience working with Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety standards.
- Basic computer literacy for updating digital job cards and accessing service bulletins.
