Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in performing periodic maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups.
- Conduct basic inspections of brake systems, suspension components, and tires to identify wear and tear.
- Learn to operate computerized diagnostic scanners to identify vehicle fault codes and system errors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay, ensuring all tools are accounted for and stored according to 5S standards.
- Support the engine and transmission overhauling process by cleaning parts and preparing components for assembly.
- Document all tasks performed and parts used accurately on the job card for service advisor review.
- Participate in mandatory OEM technical training sessions to upgrade skills on new vehicle models and technologies.
- Follow all workshop safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lifting equipment.
Requirements
- ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) or Diesel Mechanic from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institute.
- Fundamental understanding of automotive systems, including engines, gearboxes, and braking systems.
- Ability to handle heavy tools and work in a physically demanding workshop environment.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license for moving vehicles within the workshop premises.
- Strong commitment to punctuality and discipline within a 6-day work week structure.
- Basic literacy in English to read service manuals and technical bulletins.
Preferred
- Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous vocational training or apprenticeship at an authorized brand service center.
- Basic knowledge of multi-meter usage and electrical circuit testing.
