This role focuses on executing high-quality vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure peak performance and customer safety. It involves utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and adhering to strict OEM standards to deliver efficient service within a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations according to OEM checklists.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic tools and manual inspection techniques.
- Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, and suspension systems as specified in the job card.
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay, ensuring all tools are accounted for and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and provide realistic estimated completion times.
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) for new vehicles to ensure they meet brand quality standards.
- Participate in OEM-led technical training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair methods.
Requirements
- ITI or Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in an OEM authorized workshop or reputed multi-brand service center.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving license.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred
- OEM-specific technical certification from a major car manufacturer.
- Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety protocols.
- Experience with specialized equipment like wheel aligners and AC recovery machines.
