Technical managers mechanics

This role involves overseeing the technical operations of a high-volume service center, ensuring all mechanical repairs meet stringent OEM quality standards. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, optimizing workshop throughput, and resolving complex diagnostic challenges to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians to ensure peak workshop productivity and efficiency.
• Supervise complex mechanical diagnostics and high-level repairs for BS-VI and EV models.
• Enforce strict adherence to OEM technical guidelines, safety protocols, and workshop standard operating procedures.
• Conduct regular technical training and skill-gap analysis for the workshop staff to keep pace with new vehicle technologies.
• Monitor and improve 'First Time Right' (FTR) scores to minimize repeat repairs and customer dissatisfaction.
• Coordinate with the Spare Parts department to ensure availability of critical components and specialized tools.
• Analyze workshop performance data using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
• Handle escalated technical complaints and provide on-ground support for difficult-to-resolve mechanical issues.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of modern automotive systems including engines, transmissions, and electronic control units.
• Hands-on experience with advanced diagnostic tools and scanners (e.g., Techline, VCI).
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a large team in a high-pressure environment.
• Familiarity with Indian automotive regulatory standards and BS-VI compliance.
• Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for workflow tracking.
• Valid four-wheeler driving license and clean driving record.

Preferred

• Experience working with leading Indian OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
• Certification in Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage safety and repair.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles applied to workshop management.

Qualifications

Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering (Diploma holders with extensive experience may apply)

Experience: 8-12 years in an authorized automotive workshop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role

Certifications: OEM Master Technician Certification, Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) Level 5 or 6 Certification

Work Environment

Standard on-site workshop environment; 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday); 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM shift timings.
