This role involves performing routine automotive maintenance and minor repairs under the guidance of senior technicians to ensure vehicle reliability and customer safety. The focus is on learning OEM-specific service standards while maintaining a high level of workshop efficiency and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS) including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups.
- Assist senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using basic handheld tools and diagnostic scanners.
- Execute brake cleaning, pad replacements, and suspension checks as per the dealership service manual.
- Maintain high standards of workshop hygiene and ensure all tools are cleaned and returned to their designated places after use.
- Document all work performed on the job card accurately, noting parts used and additional repairs recommended.
- Conduct road tests under supervision to verify the quality of repairs and identify any lingering issues.
- Participate in OEM-led technical training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle models and technologies.
- Adhere strictly to workshop safety protocols and environmental guidelines regarding waste disposal.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and automotive electrical systems.
- Ability to handle heavy tools and perform physically demanding tasks in a workshop environment.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and follow strict timelines for vehicle delivery.
- Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license for moving vehicles within the premises.
- Strong discipline and commitment to workplace safety standards.
- Basic communication skills in the local language and Hindi.
Preferred
- Prior internship or vocational training at an authorized automobile dealership.
- Familiarity with basic digital tools or Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- Knowledge of multi-brand vehicle components.
