This entry-level role involves assisting senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicle mechanical and electrical systems while ensuring high-quality service delivery according to OEM standards. It focuses on performing routine maintenance tasks and learning advanced diagnostic procedures in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
- Support the diagnostic process for mechanical and electrical issues using basic hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation in strict compliance with dealership safety and 5S standards.
- Document all repair actions, parts used, and time spent on each job card within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Participate in OEM-mandated technical training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle technologies and repair methods.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and post-service quality checks to ensure vehicle safety.
- Ensure the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of specialized diagnostic tools and workshop machinery.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and automotive transmission systems.
- Proficiency in using manual and power tools common in automotive repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and circuit diagrams.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment for extended hours.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license for moving vehicles within the premises.
- Disciplined approach to workplace safety and workshop protocols.
Preferred
- Prior internship or apprenticeship experience at an authorized OEM dealership.
- Basic computer literacy for entering data into the service management software.
- Familiarity with specific brand-related diagnostic software or tools.
