This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. It requires a diligent approach to vehicle diagnostics and maintenance while strictly adhering to the manufacturer's service guidelines and workshop safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance services including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid top-ups as per the job card.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using OEM-specific diagnostic scanners and tools.
- Execute repairs on critical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and steering components.
- Document all repairs performed and parts used accurately in the workshop management system to ensure transparent billing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay in compliance with 5S standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct short test drives to verify that all reported issues have been resolved and the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely availability of components required for ongoing repairs.
- Participate in mandatory OEM technical training sessions to stay updated on the latest vehicle technologies.
Requirements
- ITI (Motor Mechanic Vehicle/Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automotive dealership workshop.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license is mandatory for testing vehicles.
- Practical knowledge of using pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret vehicle service manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment for a full 6-day shift.
Preferred
- Previous experience with leading Indian OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
- Basic certification in Electric Vehicle (EV) maintenance and high-voltage safety.
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for logging job details.
