This role involves performing high-level diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs on modern vehicles while ensuring strict adherence to manufacturer standards. It focuses on maintaining superior service quality, mentoring junior technicians, and optimizing workshop throughput to enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced diagnostics using OEM scanners and specialized tools to identify complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Execute major engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and suspension work with high precision and according to service manuals.
- Guide and mentor junior technicians and apprentices on the shop floor to improve overall team technical proficiency and safety awareness.
- Ensure all repair work complies with OEM guidelines and safety standards to maintain high 'First Time Right' (FTR) performance.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to provide accurate technical assessments and estimated repair times for customer transparency.
- Maintain and calibrate workshop tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure operational readiness and workplace safety.
- Document all repair processes, diagnostic findings, and parts used accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automobile workshop (Passenger or Commercial Vehicles).
- In-depth knowledge of BS6 engine technology and modern vehicle electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools, scanners, and multi-meters.
- Demonstrated ability to perform major component overhauls (Engine/Gearbox).
- Valid four-wheeler driving license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, 6-day work week environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with premium or luxury automotive brands.
- Advanced certification in Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of regional languages to facilitate better communication with local workshop staff.
