This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accidental repair department to ensure maximum workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction. The focus is on coordinating between technicians, insurance surveyors, and customers to deliver high-quality vehicle bodywork within strict timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of denters, painters, and helpers to ensure high productivity and quality standards in accidental repairs.
- Liaise with insurance company surveyors for vehicle inspections, estimation approvals, and claim settlements.
- Monitor the Body Repair Order (BRO) flow and manage the workshop floor to minimize cycle time and meet delivery deadlines.
- Conduct final quality inspections on all repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with OEM standards and paint finish requirements.
- Manage the inventory of bodyshop consumables and spare parts, ensuring timely procurement for ongoing jobs.
- Maintain safety protocols and ensure all technicians use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during welding and painting.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on bodyshop performance, including labor revenue and parts sales.
- Handle customer queries regarding repair status, insurance documentation, and technical aspects of the bodywork.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a reputed automotive bodyshop or accidental repair center.
- In-depth knowledge of denting, painting processes, and chassis alignment techniques.
- Familiarity with insurance claim procedures, cashless settlements, and surveyor coordination.
- Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for job card management and estimation.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse technical workforce.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license.
Preferred
- Experience working with premium or luxury automotive brands.
- Certification in advanced paint technology or body repair from an OEM.
- Working knowledge of inventory management and cost control.

Qualifications

Work Environment
On-site at an authorized automotive workshop; 6 days a week with standard shift timings (9 AM - 6 PM).
