This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive technical inspections and market-linked valuations of used vehicles to facilitate the exchange process and inventory procurement. It ensures accurate refurbishment cost estimation and maintains the profitability of the pre-owned car division while providing a transparent and professional experience to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous 120-point technical inspections covering engine performance, chassis integrity, transmission, and bodywork.
- Estimate refurbishment costs accurately to determine the net procurement price and ensure target margins.
- Perform extensive test drives to assess vehicle handling and identify potential mechanical or electrical issues.
- Verify all vehicle documentation including RC, insurance, service history, and accidental records for authenticity.
- Negotiate vehicle purchase prices with customers based on technical reports and current local market trends.
- Coordinate with the workshop and body shop teams to ensure timely and cost-effective refurbishment of acquired stock.
- Upload detailed evaluation reports and high-quality photographs into the Dealer Management System (DMS) in real-time.
- Monitor local used car market fluctuations to provide feedback on pricing strategies to the Sales Manager.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in used car evaluation, workshop quality control, or automotive insurance surveying.
- In-depth technical knowledge of internal combustion engines, automotive body structures, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with digital evaluation applications and basic diagnostic tools.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license and a high level of proficiency in driving various vehicle types.
- Strong understanding of the local used car market, including demand and resale value trends.
- Proven ability to detect accidental repairs, structural damage, and odometer tampering.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with OEM pre-owned brands such as Maruti True Value, Mahindra First Choice, or Toyota U-Trust.
- Familiarity with RTO processes, transfer documentation, and HP termination procedures.
- Knowledge of paint thickness gauges and other specialized inspection equipment.

Qualifications

Work Environment
On-site role based at the dealership with frequent outdoor vehicle inspections and test drives. Standard 6-day work week (9 AM - 6 PM).
