This role involves overseeing the final quality assurance process for all new vehicles before they are handed over to customers. It requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure that every vehicle meets both OEM standards and dealership quality benchmarks, bridging the gap between the workshop and the sales delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the end-to-end Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process for all incoming new vehicle stock.
- Lead a team of PDI technicians and supervisors, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate closely with the Sales Department to prioritize vehicle preparation based on delivery schedules and customer commitments.
- Ensure 100% compliance with OEM-mandated PDI checklists and maintain detailed digital records in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Oversee stockyard management, including vehicle parking layouts, inventory security, and periodic maintenance of aging stock.
- Identify and report any transit damages or manufacturing defects to the OEM for warranty claims and insurance processing.
- Implement rigorous quality control audits to achieve a 'Zero-Defect' delivery experience for every customer.
- Monitor and optimize the turnaround time (TAT) from vehicle unloading to 'Ready for Delivery' status.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in automotive service operations, with at least 3 years in a PDI or Quality Control leadership role.
- In-depth technical knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronics systems.
- Proven experience in managing stockyard operations and large vehicle inventories.
- Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) like Autoline, SAP, or internal OEM software.
- Strong understanding of Indian automotive OEM warranty policies and transit insurance procedures.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license and ability to perform test drives for quality verification.
Preferred
- Experience working with major Indian OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous exposure to Electric Vehicle (EV) PDI protocols and high-voltage safety standards.

Work Environment
This is an on-site role based primarily at the dealership workshop and stockyard. Standard Indian automotive industry working hours apply, typically involving a 6-day work week with peak activity during festive seasons and month-ends.
