This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and electronic systems in modern passenger or commercial vehicles. The position ensures that all electrical components, from basic wiring to advanced sensor networks, operate according to OEM safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and specialized OEM diagnostic software.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical components including alternators, starter motors, and battery management systems.
- Troubleshoot and fix issues within the vehicle's lighting, power windows, central locking, and infotainment systems.
- Interpret complex wiring diagrams and technical manuals to execute precise circuit repairs and harness replacements.
- Inspect and service automotive air conditioning electrical circuits, sensors, and actuators.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems during scheduled periodic service intervals.
- Document all diagnostic findings and repair actions accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Collaborate with mechanical technicians to resolve integrated engine management or transmission control issues.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience as an Auto Electrician in an authorized workshop or reputed multi-brand service center.
- Proficiency in using digital multimeters, circuit testers, and diagnostic scan tools.
- Sound knowledge of 12V/24V electrical systems and automotive circuitry.
- Ability to read and understand technical electrical schematics and wiring maps.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to conduct post-repair test drives.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment and handle specialized tools.
Preferred
- Basic understanding of EV (Electric Vehicle) high-voltage systems and safety protocols.
- Experience working with BS6/BS-VI compliant vehicle electrical architectures.
- Prior experience with specific OEM brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, or Mahindra.
