Focuses on providing high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services to ensure optimal vehicle performance and customer safety. This role involves diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues while strictly adhering to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections according to manufacturer schedules.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools and OBD scanners.
Execute minor and major repairs on engine components, transmission systems, and suspension units.
Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each vehicle within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Maintain a clean and organized work bay while ensuring all workshop tools and equipment are handled with care.
Conduct final test drives to verify that all reported issues have been successfully resolved.
Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and provide accurate repair estimates to customers.
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in an authorized automotive workshop.
Sound knowledge of internal combustion engine components and vehicle electrical systems.
Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and interpret error codes accurately.
Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license for conducting test drives.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a standard 6-day work week.
Previous experience working with a major OEM brand (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors).
Specialized training in Engine Overhauling or advanced Electrical Systems.
Basic computer literacy for updating service records in digital formats.
Diagnostic Tool Operation (OBD-II), Engine & Transmission Repair, Brake & Suspension Systems, Pneumatic & Power Tool Handling, Dealer Management System (DMS) entry

Education: ITI (Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

The role is based on-site at a busy authorized service center, requiring physical stamina and adherence to strict workshop safety protocols. Standard working hours are 6 days a week, typically from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Technicians can progress to Senior Technician or Master Technician roles. Exceptional performers may also transition into supervisory positions such as Workshop Floor Supervisor or customer-facing roles like Service Advisor.
