Focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. This role involves precise diagnostics and troubleshooting across various vehicle systems while strictly adhering to OEM service standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive mechanical and electrical repairs including engine overhauling, gearbox maintenance, and suspension tuning.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and OBD scanners to identify complex vehicle faults and provide accurate solutions.
- Execute routine periodic maintenance services (PMS) following the manufacturer's checklist and quality guidelines.
- Document all repair activities, parts replaced, and labor hours accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Conduct thorough test drives and post-repair inspections to ensure the elimination of reported complaints and prevent repeat repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work bay while ensuring all workshop tools and equipment are handled with care.
- Coordinate with the Service Advisor to provide technical explanations and cost estimates for additional repairs found during inspection.
- Adhere to all safety regulations including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper hazardous waste disposal.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a workshop at an authorized automotive dealership.
- In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for conducting vehicle test drives.
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced workshop environment for extended hours.
Preferred
- Previous experience with a Tier-1 OEM (Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra, etc.).
- Specialized certification in Electric Vehicle (EV) repair or Hybrid systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management and spare parts ordering processes.
