This role focuses on resolving complex technical issues and performing high-level diagnostics that require advanced mechanical and electrical expertise. The individual acts as a technical anchor within the workshop, ensuring that all vehicle repairs meet stringent OEM quality standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics using computerized OEM-specific scanners and diagnostic tools to identify complex mechanical and electrical faults.

• Execute critical repairs including engine overhauls, transmission work, and intricate electrical system troubleshooting.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians to improve the overall technical competency of the workshop floor.

• Ensure 100% adherence to the First Time Right (FTR) process to minimize repeat complaints and improve customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with the Service Manager and OEM technical teams to report and resolve recurring or unusual product failures.

• Conduct thorough road tests to validate the quality of repairs and ensure the vehicle is safe for customer delivery.

• Maintain and calibrate specialized workshop tools and diagnostic equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

• Document detailed technical findings and parts requirements in the Dealer Management System (DMS).

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a technician or diagnostic specialist in an authorized automotive workshop.

• Proven expertise in using diagnostic software and hardware (e.g., VAS, ODIS, Techstream, or equivalent).

• Deep understanding of BS6 engine technology, sensors, and vehicle electronic control units (ECUs).

• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins.

• Valid four-wheeler driving license is mandatory for road testing.

• Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Preferred

• OEM Certification (Level 2 or Level 3) from a reputed car or commercial vehicle manufacturer.

• Prior experience working with premium or luxury vehicle brands.

• Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage systems and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Education: ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) or Diesel Mechanic; or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on technical experience in the automotive service industry.

Certifications: OEM Diagnostic Certification, ASD certifications (preferred)

Work Environment

Standard authorized workshop environment; 6 days a week; 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; involves physical labor and exposure to workshop conditions.

Growth Opportunities
