This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems and electronic components within modern vehicles. The primary focus is ensuring vehicle safety and functionality by adhering to manufacturer specifications and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools in a high-volume workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions in vehicles using computerized diagnostic tools and scanners to identify root causes.
- Repair or replace defective wiring, starters, alternators, and electrical sensors while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.
- Install and troubleshoot electronic accessories such as infotainment systems, reverse cameras, and GPS tracking devices.
- Perform comprehensive battery health checks and manage charging system maintenance for both internal combustion and hybrid vehicles.
- Inspect and repair automotive air conditioning electrical circuits and climate control modules.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all electrical repairs and parts used within the Dealership Management System (DMS).
- Collaborate with the service advisor team to explain technical electrical issues and estimated repair timelines to customers.
- Ensure the workshop area remains clean and all specialized electrical testing equipment is calibrated and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician in an authorized automotive service center or reputed workshop.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including CAN bus, ECU, and circuit diagrams.
- Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and brand-specific diagnostic scanners.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals and wiring schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on 'First Time Right' repair quality.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license to conduct post-repair test drives.
Preferred
- Experience working with premium or luxury car brands.
- Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage systems and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with local language and basic English for technical documentation.
