This role involves acting as the primary point of contact for customers requiring accident repair and paint services, ensuring a seamless transition from vehicle intake to final delivery. The focus is on providing accurate repair estimates, coordinating with insurance surveyors for claim approvals, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction through transparent communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial vehicle inspections to assess accidental damage and prepare detailed repair estimates using Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- Liaise with insurance companies and surveyors to facilitate the claims process, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Explain repair procedures, timelines, and cost breakdowns to customers while managing their expectations regarding insurance coverage.
- Coordinate with the workshop floor supervisor and technicians to track repair progress and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform final inspections of repaired vehicles to ensure all bodywork and paint jobs meet OEM specifications before customer delivery.
- Maintain meticulous records of insurance approvals, cashless facility documentation, and customer approvals for additional work.
- Follow up with customers post-delivery to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns regarding the body shop services.
- Achieve monthly targets for body shop labor revenue, parts sales, and value-added services like ceramic coating or underbody protection.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of automobile body structures, paint processes, and accidental repair techniques.
- Strong communication skills in the local language and functional English.
- Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license is mandatory for vehicle movement and testing.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and ability to learn Dealer Management Systems (DMS) quickly.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and manage difficult customer interactions with empathy and professionalism.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced workshop environment 6 days a week.
Preferred
- Prior internship or vocational training experience in an authorized automotive service center.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes and IRDA guidelines.
- Knowledge of paint mixing and matching basics.
