This role involves conducting rigorous technical and aesthetic inspections of new vehicles to ensure they meet manufacturer standards before customer delivery. It is a critical quality control position that serves as the final checkpoint in the dealership's supply chain to guarantee customer satisfaction and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections (PDI) as per the OEM-provided checklist for all new vehicle arrivals.
- Inspect vehicle exteriors and interiors for any transit damage, paint defects, or upholstery issues.
- Verify all fluid levels, tire pressures, and battery health, topping up or charging as required.
- Test all electrical and electronic components, including infotainment systems, lighting, and air conditioning.
- Conduct short road tests to ensure engine performance, braking systems, and suspension are functioning correctly.
- Document and report any identified defects to the Workshop Manager for immediate rectification.
- Update inspection status and findings accurately in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Ensure all protective coverings and plastic films are removed and the vehicle is ready for the final detailing team.
Requirements
- ITI or Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and follow technical checklists and manufacturer manuals.
- Strong attention to detail to identify even minor cosmetic or functional flaws.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license (mandatory for road testing).
- Discipline to adhere to strict timelines and safety protocols.
Preferred
- Basic computer literacy for data entry in the DMS.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools.
- Prior vocational training or internship at an authorized service center.
