Responsible for the end-to-end diagnosis, maintenance, and complex repair of internal combustion engines within a high-volume authorized service center. This role ensures all mechanical overhauls meet strict OEM specifications and safety standards to provide optimal vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete engine disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly according to manufacturer manuals.
- Diagnose complex engine malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools, OBD scanners, and precision measuring instruments.
- Execute precision tasks including timing belt/chain replacements, cylinder head overhauls, and piston ring fitment.
- Identify and document worn or damaged components, providing accurate parts lists for estimation and procurement.
- Ensure all repairs comply with BS-VI emission standards and manufacturer-mandated service protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to 5S principles and workshop safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain technical issues and provide realistic timelines for engine-related repairs.
- Conduct final engine testing and quality checks to ensure zero leaks and optimal performance post-repair.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in engine repair and overhauling at an authorized dealership or reputed workshop.
- Deep understanding of four-stroke engine cycles, fuel injection systems, and cooling mechanisms.
- Proficiency in using precision tools like micrometers, dial gauges, and torque wrenches.
- Ability to interpret technical wiring diagrams and workshop manuals accurately.
- Hands-on experience with BS-VI engine technology and exhaust after-treatment systems.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment and handle heavy engine components.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with premium or multi-brand passenger vehicle engines.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for testing and moving vehicles within the premises.
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for logging job cards.

Qualifications
Education: ITI (Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

Certifications: OEM Certified Technician (Level 2 or higher preferred), Safety and High-Voltage training is a plus
Work Environment
Standard authorized workshop environment with 6-day work weeks, typically from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, involving physical labor and exposure to workshop noise and lubricants.
