This role involves performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and complex mechanical repairs on passenger vehicles within an authorized service center environment. It focuses on ensuring vehicle safety and performance by strictly adhering to OEM quality standards and technical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform periodic maintenance services (PMS) including oil changes, brake inspections, and filter replacements.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using computerized diagnostic tools and multi-meters.
- Execute major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions, suspensions, and braking systems.
- Maintain high standards of 'First Time Right' (FTR) to minimize repeat complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Document all technical findings and parts consumed accurately within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Collaborate with Service Advisors and Shop Floor Coordinators to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
- Maintain specialized workshop tools and equipment in good working condition while following safety protocols.
- Participate in OEM-mandated training sessions to stay updated on new vehicle technologies and repair methods.
Requirements
- ITI (Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic) or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in an authorized OEM workshop or reputed multi-brand service center.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Valid four-wheeler driving license for vehicle testing and movement within the workshop.
- Basic understanding of automotive electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-oriented workshop environment.
Preferred
- Prior experience with diagnostic scanners like Bosch, Launch, or brand-specific OEM tools.
- Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and high-voltage safety.
- Certification from a recognized automotive training institute or OEM.
